Order Book

Market Terms

We don't know everything about the markets.  We're just devoted to learning.  Taken from those smarter than ourselves, here's how we define Order Book.

An electronic list of buy and sell orders for a specific security or financial instrument organized by price level.  A order book displays the market depth, or the number of shares being offered or bid on at each price point.  These lists help traders by providing valuable information about securities as well as fostering market transparency.  Order books are used in virtually every exchange and can be found in stocks, bonds, currencies, and cryptocurrencies.
